Do you have a merge function? Can we personalize emails ?

We are working on adding this type of functionality directly into our web interface. However, at the moment the only way to do the merge function is to use our SMTP server in conjunction with 3rd-party software such as MaxBulk Mailer or Interspire Email Marketer.

I received an alert for an unknown sender detection: what should I do?

If you received an alert for a new sender address that you do not own, please check if there are scripts somewhere on one of your websites that are configured to send an email when someone fills in a form or signs-up for a newsletter. Check if the script is using the intended recipient address as the “From:” address. Make sure that the sender (From) matches with your own address.

I received an alert for a new sender detection: what's that?

When using a third party emailing service like Mailjet, you want to be able to appear as actually being the sender. This is why you need to provide some information about the “sender”. If the email contains an activation link, simply click on it. Otherwise, you don't need to do anything.

What's the meaning of DKIM?

The acronym DKIM stands for “Domain Keys Identified Mail”. It is an encryption authentication method that is used by many ISPs to establish if the email originated from an authorized system and prevents spammers from stealing the identity of legitimate entities.

What's the meaning of SPF (Sender Policy Framework)?

Haven’t we all received emails that seem to be from our bank, our credit card company or even from ourselves but they were fake emails? The way emails are structured, spammers can and often do falsify the ‘from email address’ to send these types of spoof / spam emails. This is where SPF comes into place!

What is a transactional email?

Transactional emails are sent to one person as a result of an action triggered by the user. These are automated notifications such as welcome emails, shipping notices, order confirmations, password reminders, purchase receipts, etc. These emails are so important and give users peace of mind in knowing that their transactions have been processed properly.

It is legal to buy B2B contact list and maybe approved by your local laws. However, Mailjet does not recommend to use this type of list for sending your emails not only because most ISPs do not allow it but also it is strictly against our Anti-Spam Policy and our Terms of Use.

What is your spam policy?

Our anti-spam policy set out clear terms in relation to spam communications. We hate spam as it decreases deliverability! Please check our Anti-spam policy section for complete details. Anyone caught spamming with Mailjet will get banned with no possible refund. If you received abusing messages from a Mailjet user, please forward them to abuse@mailjet.com and we'll take immediate action.

Where is Mailjet available? In which languages?

Mailjet can be used everywhere on the globe. Our interfaces are available in English, French, Spanish and German but every type of characters and any language can be used to send emails with us. We provide assistance and support in those languages. If you wish to sign up for a premium plan, we accept payment in $USD, €EUR or £GBP. We have offices in North America and Europe (Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid), we want to remain close to our customers. That’s the Mailjet DNA: always close and always responsive. Our service isn’t just a website!

Why should I use Mailjet?

Mailjet will ensure that your messages reach the inboxes of your recipients. It does not only allow you to track your emails in real time. Its scalability also allows you to adjust to the volumes of your transactions even if they go up or down. You no longer need to worry about your infrastructure.

Which character encoding is preferred for Mailjet?

We support most charset encodings. However, using UTF-8 in your emails is recommended for better compatibility.

Am I limited to one email sending address?

You can add unlimited sending addresses. To add one, you have to configure the email address or you can also configure the whole domain as a sender from your account in "Senders & Domains"

How will Mailjet use my email address?

Mailjet only use your email address to send you our newsletter and updates on our service. We will never sell your email address to a third party, that is strictly against our policy!

How does Mailjet improve the deliverability of the emails?

Mailjet constantly look for different ways to optimize and improve the deliverability of your emails. We manage your reputation as a sender and puts authentication tools at your disposal (SPF, DKIM, etc.). We optimize your sending frequencies (throttling) and your HTML code (thanks to the Newsletter Tool). On top of that, the feedback loops and the statistics allow you to optimize deliverability from one sending to the other.

"Bulk", "marketing", "transactional", etc. What's the difference between the types of emails?

Bulk emails are "one-to-many" emails while transactional emails are sent on a "one-to-one" basis. The typical "bulk email" is a newsletter as the typical "transactional email" is an invoice or simply a sign up confirmation.

What is the size limit for attachments files sent via Mailjet?

File attachments are limited to 7 MB per file, and your total message size must be 10.2 MB. Please note that beyond 5 MB, a lot of ISPs will block the message. File attachment is supported only with our SMTP relay at the moment, as we do not provide this feature with our Newsletter Tool.
